The
group dynamic has rarely played a part in the world of strength
conditioning. However, after exploring the most effective
ways to motivate and inspire my clients, I found that having
them work together in small groups made a huge impact on
their satisfaction with the workouts.
The energy pulled from the groups is what drives the momentum of the
session. Everyone is feeding off of the positive, high-level energies
of everyone else in the group. And that in turn causes each person to
push a little harder, move a little faster or try something they have
never done before. By the end of the workout, sweat is dripping, smiles
are beaming and people are amazed at the strength they have to successfully
complete some pretty rigorous workouts!
My workouts pull together the most effective exercises from all the major
disciplines – strength and cardiovascular conditioning, speed and
agility training, yoga, Pilates, martial arts and group fitness. So,
when you are working out at Fit Columbia you get the best of the best!
Most importantly, you never get bored. With such a wide range of exercises
and formats, you and your body won’t know what hit it!
Don’t be discouraged if you think you aren’t at the right
fitness level to join in. I take great care to match people to appropriate
groups. In addition, I always modify the workouts to fit your specific
needs. That is why I limit the group sizes – so that I am still
able to focus on you individually, as your personal trainer.
The groups are not lead in a traditional format where there is an instructor
at the front of the room and everyone is going along in unison. Rather,
I give each person specific instruction on what exercise to perform.
I monitor your form and vitals to ensure your safety and to avoid injury.
