LEVEL 1  /  Aerial Yoga / Lunch time & Tuesdays 6pm

No matter your level of experience in traditional yoga, aerial dance, modern dance, or cheerleading camp, if you’ve never taken an Aerial Yoga class before, please start with Level 1! Level 1 classes are designed to familiarize students with the building blocks of an Aerial Yoga practice. Students will learn how to balance using the fabric as support, flip in the air, and position the hammock in the right spot to not lose their lunch in down dog. This class also helps students gain body awareness and comfort in supported inversions. 

LEVEL 1.5 : Aerial for night owls / Wednesdays 8pm

Aerial Yoga for night owls welcome aerial yoga enthusiasts with level one experience. This class is for the aerial yogi excited for more advanced postures, transitions and tricks.  Students have taken 5 aerial yoga classes or more recently at Fit Columbia or have equivalent experience with aerial hammock.  We ask that students be able to invert with the hammock at the sacrum with no instruction.

LEVEL 1: Hip Hop Aerial Flow / Thursdays 6pm

In hip hop aerial yoga, students learn to use aerial fabric to create elegant shapes and beautiful inversions from yoga inspired poses to choreographed dance sequencing. Each class starts with a warm-up emphasizing strength, flexibility & alignment, and will continue by introducing elements of progressive choreography with the hammock.  This class is beginner friendly. 

LEVEL 1: Aerial Restorative Flow

Aerial yoga mellow flow is a restorative style class designed for students of all levels who are looking to slow down their practice and use the aerial fabric closer to the ground.  At the end of class, you can expect a long and loving savasana, before we send you off completely refreshed!  This class is beginner friendly. 

LEVEL 2: Aerial fit

Aerial Fit will include more fitness and core work using aerial hammocks. This class focuses on upper and lower abs, obliques, and lower back muscles. Level 2 students learn how to use the hammock for acrobatic-style balancing while integrating more flips & cirque into their Aerial Yoga practice. This class will challenge you to develop increased strength and flexibility, while you learn to flow through multiple poses without ever stepping your feet down to rest.
